Artist Statement

I’ve always had a fascination with plants and photography.  Over the years, these two pastimes have evolved into a passion to create a series of photographs I call “Art from the Butterfly Garden.” The goal of my art is to advocate for the protection of our many endangered pollinating species and to share the incredible beauty and design of nature that can be found when you take a closer look.

My main interest is close up or macro photography and my subjects include garden plants and visitors including butterflies, moths, bees, wasps and whatever other pollinators make their way into the garden. Nearly all of my photos are taken in my backyard garden/studio in East Peoria, Illinois.

Prints and portfolio are available for viewing by appointment.  Custom print sizes are available by request.
