From Gloucester, England, Janet Evra is a vocalist, bassist and composer based in St. Louis, Missouri. She is on a Midwest tour to promote her album Ask Her To Dance. Against a gentle bed of subtle samba rhythms, Evra sings of missed connections and burgeoning desire. Evra enjoys the dichotomy of singing above the subtle syncopations and low register of her stand-up bass. Joining her is Will Buchanan on guitar, Drew Weiss on drums and Jim Hegarty on piano. Together they blend bossa nova, samba and modern American jazz with an indie twist to produce a fresh sound.
