Current images are inspired by internal states of worship, awe and wonder -- the fantasy of castles, solace of the sanctuary and inner workings of the flower. Using digitizing software and a variety of hand techniques, I machine/hand embroider on tulle, embellish with beads and use the Mola technique of cutting through layers. The scale of this work is quite small and intimate allowing the viewer to singularly investigate these intensely ornamented images.
Two of these pieces were included in the Handweaver's Guild of America traveling exhibition for 2009, Small Expressions. Inner Sanctum received the 2nd place Award!
