Began residency in 2006

Biography:
My love of painting and drawing started in early childhood. After working as a graphic designer for Crafts Magazine, doing illustrations for Sew News Magazine, and working for several small agencies, I became a photo stylist and assistant in commercial photography. A few years later, I purchased an advertising publishing business. I had to sell and design all ads and have 10,000 copies distributed each month. After three years, the stress proved to me I needed to paint again! Leaving the business world, I aquired a studio at Art Squared Gallery in Peoria Heights, where I painted and taught watercolor. I later moved to CAC.

Accomplishments:
2007 Peoria Art Guild Members Exhibit
2006 INIEA Prairie School Project, Reclaiming Our Legacy, illustrator

Statement:
My work reflects my interest in organic shapes and fluid movement. I will normally develop a piece of art from within my mind’s eye, with limited use of preliminary sketching. Listening to different types of music will have a great effect on what I produce at that time. Water media (watercolor, acrylic, watercolor pencil) plus pastel and prismacolor pencil are my primary means of expression. I’ve also worked in clay and collage to some extent.
